Ann Howard – Head of School

We are proud at Platt Bridge Community School to provide a high quality education to the children in our community. It is important to us that everyone feels valued, safe and able to aspire to achieve their dreams, to be the ‘best they can be’.

Platt Bridge Community School was opened in 2006 following the closure of two local schools. The school was part of an extended development which brings together a wide range of public services in state of the art buildings in one of Wigan’s most deprived wards. Platt Bridge Community School was judged ‘ ‘Outstanding’ in 2013.

Children start at Platt Bridge from the age of 2 in its Nursery, then move into pre-school before beginning their more formal education in our Reception class.

 Our pupils are at the heart of all we do. We are committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for every child and working with educational partners to offer a holistic, broad and balanced, child-centred curriculum.

                                                                                                                           Ofsted – Outstanding

Lisa Liptrott – Head of School

Orrell Lamberhead Green is a school where everybody tries to be their BEST every day; and because of this we are an Outstanding school.

Our children achieve highly in National Tests in both attainment and progress. However, whilst high attainment is important to us, we are also incredibly proud of our pupils’ outstanding attitudes and the happy atmosphere created through positive relationships with all members of the school community. We want all our children to leave us having achieved greater depth in confidence and self-esteem.

Relationships with parents are exceptionally positive and supportive- 99.95% would recommend us to another parent.

Gail Worrall – Headteacher

Orrell Holgate is a special place. Our children are well behaved, hardworking and caring. We work alongside our parents, to equip each child with the tools they need to be successful, safe and happy. We have an exciting curriculum with many links to wider learning through visits, visitors and our spiritual, moral, social and cultural list of non-negotiable experiences. Our data and pupil achievement reflects our high aspirations and expectations for every pupil.

The school is currently extending and over the next few years will continue to grow until we are fully 2-form entry by 2020. I am very proud to be Headteacher at Orrell Holgate and to work with such fantastic staff both in Greengate and Community First Academy Trust, parents, governors, trustees and of course, my wonderful children!

Sue Darbyshire – Chief Executive, Community First Academy Trust

Community First Academy Trust consists of like-minded individuals and educational establishments who want the best for all pupils, staff, families and communities that we serve.

Delivering excellence is our overriding focus. Our family of academies – working together – will strategically deliver long term sustainability through efficiencies and savings that release resources to improve the rate of progress for all students. This will enable us to deliver the excellence in education that our communities deserve, through the sharing of best practice and the delivery of continuous and sustained improvement.

Our mission is to ensure that every pupil develops as a confident and competent person with the highest aspirations to be the best they possibly can be. We hope that you will be inspired to join us on the next stage of our journey to create schools that we can all be proud of.

Jane Chambers -  Chief Executive, Greengate Academy Trust

The mission and vision of our family of schools is focused on raising the standards of aspiration and achievement for all students, encompassing innovative approaches to curriculum, teaching and learning, and by being part of a local and regional strategy to increase choice and diversity in education.

When we became an Academy was the long term goal was for us to be part of a wider group of primary academies. The benefits of belonging to a wider family of primary schools with shared values are very clear:

·         It provides additional support for staff and leaders;

·         It allows the sharing of best practice, expertise and shared training;

·         It allows for the sharing of costs and cost efficiencies.

Summary

Community Frist Academy Trust and Greengate Academy Trust have decided to collaborate and work together as one to maximise the support and educational services they provide to young people. Both trust share the same vision and value want schools to retain their local identity and autonomy but have access to enhanced capacity to support continuous improvement and continuous opportunities for development by working together as one. This is a hugely exciting time for our family of schools.
