Pupil Support Managers provide a complementary service to existing teachers and pastoral staff in school, addressing the needs of children to help them overcome barriers to learning both in and outside school, in order to achieve their full potential. Our reception area is the hub for all activities at the School and Start Well (Childrens Centre) which means we are looking for someone who can multi task with a smile and keep our reputation for being a welcoming and friendly School and Start Well Family Centre. Good communication and customer care skills are therefore, essential.

In Wigan Children’s Centre’s are called Start Well Family Centre’s and are based on the concept of providing integrated education, care, family support, health services and support with employment being key factors in determining good outcomes for children and their parents.

Platt Bridge Community School and Platt Bridge Start Well Family Centre is a place where children and their families receive seamless integrated services and information and where they can access help and support from multi-disciplinary teams of professionals working to deliver better outcomes for children and their families.

We are looking to appoint a receptionist who is friendly, welcoming and professional and has the ability to communicate with a diverse range of service users and colleagues working in a multi-disciplined school environment. You will work at Platt Bridge Community School but will join our friendly Start Well Family Centre team.

The main duties will be meeting and greeting parents and children to the school/centre, maintaining a warm, friendly reception area alongside carrying out admin and ICT tasks to support the smooth running of the centre and school. Collection of data and making appointments are some of the routine responsibilities etc.

The successful candidate will need to possess good communication and clerical skills and be organised as you will work alongside the team and a variety of community partners who deliver services from our centre.
